Oh Yeah Protein Bar Caramel Chocolate
What type of Protein do Oh Yeah Chocolate & Caramel Bars use? These bars use Oh Yeah’s protein blend consisting of whey protein isolate, soy protein isolate, milk protein concentrate, and Calcium Caseinate.

What We Like About Oh Yeah! Chocolate & Caramel Bars

This bar is a downright tasty way to consume your protein! We like that this bar has 26 grams of protein which is puts it in the top tier for the raw # grams of protein delivered. While it’s still not as low as we’d like, and little high for the OhYeah! products, this bar is a slightly more moderate on the sugars with six grams of sugar and 15 grams of sugar alcohol (trust us, we’ve seen MUCH higher!).

Gluten isn’t really a huge sticking point for everybody (no pun intended) but for those who may be a bit gluten sensitive, these bars are also gluten free.

What We Don’t Like

The 19 grams of fat. This is definitely on the high side for protein bars but a bit of saving grace is that only 7 of those grams come from saturated fat. But 7 grams of saturated fat is still way too high. In addition, a stunning 47% of the 380 calories you’re getting from this bar are fat calories. That’s almost half! Perhaps this should be called a fat bar instead of a protein bar.

Oh Yeah Chocolate Caramel Back
The carbohydrates being 31g is also a slight weak point for us. We say slight because you will find that most protein bars are going to have carbohydrates, generally between 20 and 35 grams (we consider over 30 on the high side of this range).

Have you seen this, though?

Oh Yeah Chocolate Caramel Net Carbs lable

Supposedly only 12 grams of these carbs have a noticeable affect on your blood sugar levels.

We’ll have to look more into the discussion of carbs and net carbs, how protein bar companies determine this, etc., in a future article, but for now we’re sticking to our guns, 31 g or carbs is on the high side.

The other thing we don’t like about this bar (and it may sound slightly childish or petty) it crumbles everywhere! If you’re taking a bite, be sure to cup your hand under this one unless you enjoy having peanuts and chocolate all over your floor.

How much do Oh Yeah! Bars Cost?

In the Amazon store, you will pay $2.15 for one bar or $15.65 for a one box.

How do they taste?

OhYeah! bars are notorious for being delicious (maybe even one of the best tasting brands on the market). The Chocolate & Caramel bar is no exception. The staff member in charge of creating this bar must have had a Baby Ruth bar in mind when they made it. The two taste so similar that it’s eerie.

The cool thing about this bar is that it doesn’t taste overly sweet. In addition, the protein-filled center isn’t overly rich, which means that these bars are extremely easy to eat. While this is great for taste, it could potentially be a bad thing if your self-control levels are waning from long periods of dieting.

Where Can I Get Them?

Most fitness chains will carry these bars, but it’s hard to tell exactly which flavors a physical store will carry at any given time. To keep from having to worry about flavors and stock levels, you can find them at bodybuilding.com, or even in the Amazon Marketplace, or simply click here!

Special Notes

If you have peanut allergies, this is NOT the bar for you. The OhYeah! Chocolate Caramel bar is absolutely packed with peanuts. In addition these bars also contain milk, soy, almonds and “processed in a facility that processes wheat ingredients and other tree nuts.”

The Final Say

All things considered Oh Yeah!’s Chocolate Caramel protein bar isn’t bad. There are some issues with the high fat and fat calories but there is a strong 26 grams of protein in this bar and a “not so bad” sugar profile.
